*ATTENTION TGB DRUMMING CIRCLE FANS!!* ** *JOIN US FOR...* *RiverBeat 2006:
* *Pittsburgh's 3rd Annual River Drumming Cruise* *TAKING PLACE ON SUNDAY,
SEPTEMBER* *17 from NOON to 3PM* [image: Click the image to reserve your
place]<http://www.holisticpittsburgh.com/modules.php?name=Calendar&file=index&type=view&eid=1177>
*What:* Pittsburgh's Third Annual RiverBeat interactive hand-drumming
cruise, with a theme of "Three Rivers, One Rhythm."
*Who:* *Jim Donovan*, drummer and founding member, Rusted Root
(multi-platinum band that has toured with Santana, Page and Plant, Sting,
Dave Matthews Band, Jewel, Grateful Dead and others),
www.jimdonovanmusic.com; *Elie Kihonia*, International Master Drummer/
Percussionist/Performer/Teacher/Choreographer from the Democratic Republic
of Congo, founder of Afrika Yetu and co-founder of UMOJA African Arts
Company (Pittsburgh-based African cultural understanding organization),
www.WACongo.com; Special guest *Rainbow Eagle*, Okla-Choctaw American Indian
elder, www.rainboweagle.com. And of course, YOU!! (no musical experience
necessary to participate)
*Why:* To bring together people of various ages, cultures, races and
religions to build community and make music as one. To release stress,
increase immune functioning and energy levels, and engender a sense of
belonging, as only large group drumming circles can; to inspire inner
transformation through a low-cost, 'hands on' and contagiously fun
interactive musical experience. To honor one of Pittsburgh's greatest
assets: our three rivers. To continue to assist Pittsburgh in its emerging
identity as a leading edge east coast location for drum circles, a
flourishing national trend (see last week's NPR feature
story<http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=5630542>).
*Where:* Gateway Clipper Fleet's Party Liner, Gateway Clipper Dock, Southern
Bank of the Monongahela River, Station Square, Downtown Pittsburgh
*Contact: *Gina Hillier, Epiphany Works, 724.452.4007, 724.316.4751,

We can't wait! This is one of the most fun pure-consciousness events in the
area! We look forward to seeing you there!
Blessings,
Susan & Fernando
